Cheera vibhavangal (Spinach dishes)






Here I would like to present five dishes of cheera.

Cheera thair

Bunch of spinach,onion chopped 1 tblspn,ginger grated 1 tspn,green chilly 2,slited,curry leaf 1 sprig,
cooking oil 2tspn,cumin seed crushed 1/4tspn,mustard seed a pinch,dried chilly 1,curd 1 cup,salt to taste
Heat oil,drop in dried chilly,mustard seeds,allow to pop,add curry leaf,onion,ginger,saute well,
add spinach,saute in low flame,add salt,remove from flame,add curd 3 mins later,mix well,adjust salt.

Cheera parippu curry

Cook yellow split peas with 2 shallots,2 cloves garlic,turmeric powder,salt in a pressure cooker,mash it,add 3 cups chopped cheera,1/2 tspn chilly powder,cook well,add 1 cup coconut milk,adjust salt,add
curry leaves,season with mustard seeds in hot oil,adding dried chilly.

Cheera avial

Stem of cheera 2 bundles,Leaves of cheera 1 bundle,onion sliced 1/4 cup,tomato sliced 1/4 cup,garlic sliced 2 cloves.Cook the
ingredients in enough water.By the time prepare avial arappu,by grinding 1/2 cup grated coconut,
1/4 tspn cumin powder,a pinch turmeric powder,1 green chilly and keep aside.When cooked ,add
coconut mix,stir well in low flame,adjust,salt,add 2 tspn coconut oil,swirl well,remove from flame.

Cheera thoran

Chopped cheera 1 bowl,grated coconut 1 cup,cumin powder 1/4tspn,garlic paste 1/4tspn,turmeric powder a pinch,shallots 3 finely chopped,mix the ingredients except cheera,with hand,keep aside.
Heat 2 tspn oil,drop in mustard seeds,dried chilly,allow seeds to pop,add cheera,salt,saute,cook well
in low flame,add coconut mix,thoran is ready.

Cheera mizhukkupuratty

Cheera medium leaves,along with stem 1 bundle,onion 1 sliced,green chilly 2,slited,ginger 1 pc sliced thinly,oil 3 tspn,salt to taste,lemon juice 1 tblspn
Heat oil in a pan,add onion,ginger,saute till onion becomes translucent ,add cheera,green chilly,salt,
saute well,when cooked add lemon juice,to keep the dish juicy.

dishes together....
